I don't think you can let Sayid go vendetta on her, but does she not have to pay some price if she is to be part of their community? Is it wrong to ask her to pay such a price simply because of her experiences the previous 48 days? Mercy is always a noble way to go. Can jack be merciful without sending Sayid out to get justice for himself?

Our ability to be merciful is coloured by our experiences. If we are to go hard line on Ana, then how should we feel about the people with checkers pasts such as Kate, Sawyer, and Sayid? The main difference is the survivors have no emotional connection to the people in each survivors past making it easier to be objective. It's going to be hard to judge without the emotions getting in the way. Another fan and I have similar ideas (based upon the preview for the next episode) on what the outcome will be.

What Ana does next should tell us a lot.
