I think maybe pre crash pasts should be considered, but really there's a clean slate at the point of the crash. While their pasts inform them, they're all there now. I don't think Jack cares what Kate or Locke or even Sawyer used to be separate from their performance on the island.

I think the problem they face is now they are mixing two groups whose post crash experiences are very different yet extremely relevant to this incident. Ana's group has obviously had more people voted off the island, so I expect its gonna fall on Jack to figure out how to handle this. Its hard to see how he can resolve this issue without alienating someone he needs. Ana has important information about the others. Eko has spent 48 days with Ana, as has libby. Are they gonna watch her get spanked? The group needs Sayid. Life will be a lot harder and less hopeful without him. I expect Sayid's gonna demand some justice. I expect a lot of people are gonna feel terrible for shannon and even Sayid but recognize at some level that it was a sucky situation and a terrible accident. Rose is gonna give a candy bar to Bernard.

Restless is the head that wears the crown. I think Jack has some sleepless nights ahead.
