Gee whiz! This sounds so complicated, and as if it would also require the purchase of much new and probably expensive equipment.

$2000 may be a significant drop from $5000, but it still doesn't seem "ridiculously cheap" in my budget.

Any predictions on when all this stuff might become reasonably affordable for the mainstream, lower-middle-class, non-techie types? :-)
