I'd already written

The bullet in Villains:

We know that Darth Rosenberg was in full effect and that the Dark Magic had all but taken over at that point. Buffy's life actually meant little to Dark Willow (she tries to kill Buffy, Xander, Andrew and Johnathan with the truck later) but her power to bring Buffy back is important to her. The hubris thing combined with, hey, already paying a price.

and

The Dark Arts will rule you if you do not understand them; and even if you do understand them they will not serve your every purpose - there is another, higher, agenda.

so I thought that my interpretation was clear; that abdication of responsibility or control, becoming a conduit for greater forces essentially, IS the consequence from which there may be no return. We are told of this in AYW, the Shamans that work with the Finns are left in a state where there is nothing left of them. Beyond this point things can only be a more extreme example of the condition already manifested, the magic is in control of the caster not the other way round.

Locater spells

Sorry, I was a bit cryptic I suppose. What I meant was that the repercussions could well be that the caster would be unable to find small household items easily on one or more occasions. Irritating but not really worth mentioning. It's not as if these sorts of spell have vast direct consequences for the subject, they are however very useful given other means of action and the knowledge imparted by them.

The Tinkerbell spell

Again hardly earth-shaking power there, the batteries in your flashlight might be inexplicably drained next time you try to use it.

Fiat Lux

Can't find this. Do you mean when she's on the bed with the body? Are we sure this is a spell?

I suspect we could go back and forth on this for quite a while.

Suits me! If there's a conclusion to be reached then that's the only way to reach it really but I suspect in the end it will be just a matter of opinion. Please post if you have more to say or further examples of no visible consequences.
