From her third floor room of the Dildgen Ambassador’s quarters in the palace, Ming had a fairly good view of Rhonde. She signed dramatically as she let her head slump onto the windowsill and swished her tail impatiently. Her father was gone again—probably still in the palace, but she hadn’t heard from him for two days. Keya had just about had a heart attack earlier today when she’d accidentally tracked mud in their quarters and sent Ming to her room. Now Ming was stuck staring out the window and contemplating her boredom.
If it wasn’t for being sent to her room, she would probably be down in the stable helping Juin, the stable boy, with the new horses that had come in earlier. That would’ve been a great deal more interesting than staring nonchalantly at the city. There had been something going on with a carriage, or so it appeared, just a little earlier, but it had been too far away for Ming to actually tell what was going on. Now it looked as if some of the participants of the indiscernible event were headed toward the palace. Curious.
As quietly as possible with hooves on stone floor, Ming crept to her door to see if she could still her Keya beyond. If she was gone or busy doing something Ming might be able to sneak out of her room!
