WILLPOWER PART 17: HARD TO FOOL

Willow, Xander, Dawn and Andrew are sitting around the dining table of casa Harris. They are clearly in the middle of
a conversation.
DAWN
How can we be sure she won't find out?
WILLOW
She's hard to fool, you know.
ANDREW *smiling*
Let's just *not* mention it to her
XANDER *sarcastic*
Of course. Why didn't we think of that before?
DAWN *to Andrew*
It's not about us telling her. We have preperations to make, and then there's the whole 'getting her
to the place' thing.
The way Dawn talks to Andrew indicates that she's more or less over the dream she had about Andrew.
ANDREW
You want an excuse to get her here?
XANDER *sarcastic*
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner
DAWN *to Xander*
Okay Xander. You're not helping.
XANDER
You're right. Concentrating again.... Will.. you have any idea what it would take to get her here?
Willow's face suddenly lightens up a bit.
WILLOW
Maybe if we told her you made a new weapon for her birthday
XANDER
She would believe that?
DAWN
Kennedy? Are you kidding? She'll fall for it like..... well.... like something falling.
WILLOW
Okay, now that we know how to get her there. I have made a list for everyone with stuff to do and get
Willow hands everyone a note with about ten lines on each note. Andrew takes a look on his list.
ANDREW
This surprise party thing is a lot of work.
XANDER *to Andrew*
It's what friends do
ANDREW *to Xander*
Yeah, I know. I'm not complaining here.
ANDREW
By the way, what'd you all get for her?
DAWN
For Kennedy. Well.... nothing yet.... I'm still in the... thinking fase.
XANDER
Yeah, me too. Will... what'd you get?
WILLOW
I.. have my eye on something really nice
DAWN *laughing*
You're as clueless as we are
WILLOW
Maybe a weapon wouldn't even be such a bad idea. Slaying *is* what she talks about most.
DAWN
Maybe Willow and I can work some magic on the weapon
WILLOW
Uh Dawn... if I could do that we'd all be wielding magic weapons
DAWN
Oh..... right.
ANDREW
Maybe we can get some special item from a Magic Box supplier. I mean... Giles is in on this right?
WILLOW
Of course he's in on this. He's the one who keeps Kennedy away from these meetings

Giles and Kennedy are training in the back of the Magic Box. Giles attacks Kennedy with punches and Kennedy is blocking
Giles' attacks. Giles keeps increasing his speed and Kennedy is having more and more trouble of keeping up until Giles
hits Kennedy's head. Fortunately, she had protective gear on, so she's not hurt.
GILES
Not bad. Let's go again
KENNEDY *clearly had enough*
I'm beat. Can't this wait until tomorrow?
GILES
Come on.
KENNEDY
You know, this would go easier if I could attack.
GILES
Maybe later
Giles moves towards Kennedy and attacks her again. Somehow, Kennedy seems more focussed now. Even when Giles increases the
speed of his attacks, Kennedy blocks them all. Giles then ducks and sweeps his feet over the floor.
Kennedy jumps up so she won't get floored by Giles.
GILES
Excellent
KENNEDY *clearly tired now*
yeah, it was. I'm gonna go now
Kennedy walks towards the front of the Magic Box.
GILES *shouts after Kennedy*
This is your destiny Kennedy
Kennedy turns around and faces Giles.
KENNEDY *smiling*
Not until I get chosen, it isn't.
GILES
Training is important
KENNEDY
Yes it is... towmorrow
GILES *gives in*
Alright then. See you tomorrow.
KENNEDY
Thank god
Kennedy walks out of the Magic Box, very tired. Giles walks towards the phone, picks it up and dials a number.
GILES
Xander? Kennedy is on her way home

We are at Glory's place. She walks around in the room wearing a light blue dress. While she talks, she keeps walking
around. There is one minion in the room with her.
GLORY *to minion 1*
Tell me you got something!
The minion is afraid to say it but his expression speaks for itself.
MINION
We..... were unsuccesfull
GLORY *angry*
What?! Are you saying I have this vampire thing stuck in me? Is that what you're saying?!
Glory steps towards the minion and hits him in the face so that he falls backwards on the ground.
MINION
Thank you, most great one. The great Glory has honored me by touching me
GLORY
You want me to honor you more?
The minion immediately shuts up.
GLORY *smiles*
Well now, let's ask those pathetic humans
MINION
Won't the witch kill us?
An evil, happy grin appears on Glory's face.
GLORY
I will summon the Jah-Din
MINION
Do you have the ingredients for the summoning, great one?
GLORY
No, but I'm sure you can find a way to get them
MINION
That will not be a problem.
GLORY
Good...... you can leave now!

Kennedy arrives at the Summers' place where nobody's home. She starts walking up the stairs when Dawn and Willow enter.
KENNEDY
You've been patrolling?
DAWN
Nah, been playing cards with Xander and Andrew
KENNEDY
Sounds like fun. I'm going to bed.
Kennedy walks upstairs and enters her bedroom.
WILLOW *whispers to Dawn*
She hasn't got a clue.... goodnight
Willow walks up the stairs and goes after Kennedy.
DAWN *whispers*
Yeah, goodnight
Dawn then walks up the stairs.

We are at the beach. It is broad daylight but the beach is completely deserted. Dawn stands with her feet in the water
staring at the ocean. The look on her face reveals that she is in deep thoughts but also a little sad. Then, someone
puts his hands on her shoulders. She turns around and sees Andrew standing there. The sad look instantly disappears
from Dawn's face.
ANDREW
Hi
DAWN
Hi
ANDREW *smiles*
Miss me?
DAWN *smiles*
You know I did.
They both lean in and start kissing passionately.
Dawn then wakes up. She sits up in her bed, breathing heavily.
DAWN
This just isn't fair

Xander and Andrew are eating breakfast at the Harris residence.
XANDER
So... party in two days. You gonna bring Rachel?
ANDREW
No
XANDER
What do you mean, no?
ANDREW
I mean no, as in, no I'm not bringing her
XANDER
What's wrong
ANDREW *no emotion*
I broke up with her
XANDER
Okay.... didn't see that coming
Xander looks at Andrew again.
XANDER
You found out?
ANDREW
Yeah... I did
XANDER
Come on Andrew! That was in the past. You're not throwing your relationship away for that, are you?
ANDREW
No, not for that. I've know that for a long time.
XANDER
Dawn told you.
Andrew gives Xander a forced smile.
XANDER
What happened?
ANDREW
She went for someone else
XANDER
Sorry man. What'd she say?
ANDREW
That she was sorry.
Xander looks at Andrew for a few seconds. A smile appears on Xander's face.
XANDER
So, what are you doing tomorrow?
ANDREW
Shopping with Dawn. We have Willow's list to worry about.
XANDER
You two are in charge of party supplies?
ANDREW
Yeah, kinda. What's on your list?
XANDER
I'm in charge of the food.
ANDREW *mocking*
That's quite a responsibility
XANDER *smiles*
Ok, I've gotta go to work. Have fun with Dawn
Xander then walks out of the front door. Andrew looks worried as if he only now realizes that he spends the entire
afternoon with Dawn.

At Glory's place, Glory's minion brings Glory a white plastic bag. Glory opens the bag and smiles when she sees the
contents. She holds the bag upside down and several stuff falls from the bag. None of it looks familiar.
GLORY
Good work, my sweet minion
The minion smiles prouidly
GLORY
Now get back
Glory takes a jar of salt and pours a circle around the stuff on the floor with it. She then holds her hands up
and starts chanting.
GLORY
Um nah Jah-Din. Svenka ma sur. Asehre mahpul com va.
Um nah Jah-Din. Svenka ma sur. Asehre mahpul com va.
Um nah Jah-Din. Svenka ma sur. Asehre mahpul com va.
Jah-Din svenka ma sur!
Glory waits for about two seconds.
GLORY
Now!
A bright light fills the room and a creature stands inside the circle. It looks like a gorilla, except that his skin
is pitch-black, his hands have three fingers each and his face is completely deformed.
He walks out of the circle and steps towards Glory. He grabs her throat but Glory hits him in the gut so hard he
crumbles down.
GLORY
Don't forget who brought you here honey. Now be nice.
The Jah-Din stands up and looks at Glory.
GLORY *smiles*
Excellent! I knew you would see it my way. Now... let's talk about what I want, if you don't mind.
I want you to kill someone. Wouldn't you like that?
JAH-DIN
And... who are we talking about?
GLORY
Willow..... uh..... *impatient* help me out here
Willow gives her minion a look
MINION *talking fast*
Rosenberg, oh great Glorificus
JAH-DIN
That will not be easy. Her power is great.
GLORY
She hides inside her house, where I can't enter. If she get's out, I can kill her.
JAH-DIN
I think we can work something out here.
GLORY *smiling*
Good. Because I wouldn't want to rip your heart out.... at least... not before you did as I said.
The Jah-Din grumbles for a second.

The scooby gang is patrolling at night at one of the local cemetaries. The entire gang is there; Giles, Willow, Kennedy
Xander, Dawn and Andrew. They are all heavily armed, except for Willow who relies on her magic in battle.
Suddenly, two vampires appear twenty feet from the gang. More vampires the appear all around them. None of them attack
however. The scoobs don't attack either. Then, the Jah-Din walks towards the first two vampires and faces the scoobs.
DAWN *whispers to Willow*
If you're waiting for the referee to start the game, I have bad news for you
Willow reaches her hand back and then points her hand forwards, in the direction of one of the vampires, much like
throwing a tennisball. A yellow ball shoots out of her hands that kills the vampire on impact. This works like a
starting signal and all the vampires and the Jah-Din start attacking. It seems like the scoobs have a quick victory;
Willow's magic swiftly kills all the vampires while the other scoobs defend themselves. After about fifteen seconds,
all the vampires are dust and only the Jah-Din stands between them and victory.
JAH-DIN
Willow Rosenberg?
WILLOW
That's me. Goodbye!
Willow holds her hands with the palm up and points them at the Jah-Din, causing a chaing of lightning to be hurled to
the Jah-Din. The Jah-Din doesn't even seem bothered by it.
JAH-DIN
Is that supposed to hurt, witch?
WILLOW
What the hell are you?
JAH-DIN
I am the gatekeeper of hell. The master of torture. The unholy.....
KENNEDY
I sorry to interrupt.... okay I'm not...... I think she meant, like, a name
The Jah-Din looks at Kennedy with hate in his eyes. Dawn figures this is as good a time as any and fires her crossbow
at the demon's chest. The demon doesn't move and the bolt hits it's target. Again, the demon doesn't seem bothered.
JAH-DIN
You five, get lost. *indicates everyone but Willow* I have no business with you
The Jah-Din moves towards Willow and aims a punch for Willow's face. Willow manages to jump aside so she doesn't get hit.
WILLOW
Domehim!
Magic crackles around Willow as she imbues herself with strength. The Jah-Din rushes at her but is very surprised to
see Willow's fist heading towards his face. He doesn't get more than a fraction of a second to react and that is not
eanough. He gets hit and falls to the floor. Within a second, he is back up again.
JAH-DIN
You're gonna pay for that witch.
The other scoobs decide to attack, now that the Jah-Din has turned his back to them. Giles buries and axe in the demon's
back. Not a second later, Xander jams a sword between the demon's shoulders. The Jah-Din grumbles in pain, but is in no
way out. He violently turns around, ramming Xander and Giles out of the way, looking directly at Dawn who has her crossbow
aimed at the demon's face. She fires but the demon holds his hand before his face so the arrow pierces the demon's hand.
He immediately pulls it out.
WILLOW (O.S)
Accendo conglacio
The Jah-Din turns towards Willow and is somewhat surprised to see two large balls of energy between himself and Willow.
The two balls are about ten feet apart. One is blue and one is red and both are pulating with energy.
Suddenly, small bolts of fire come from from the red energy ball. After a few seconds, small shards of ice start
coming from the blue energy ball. The demons seems a little annoyed by this but not really hurt. The fire and ice
start increasing in speed however, then suddenly it stops. The Jah-Din smiles.
JAH-DIN
Is that all?
WILLOW *smiles*
No
The two energy balls then both move at the Jah-Din. Making a circular movement, the energy balls approach the Jah-Din
from both his left and right. The Jah-Din doesn't get any time to react. The two balls of energy crash together and
a small explosion follows that blasts back Willow, who was closest to the Jah-Din. The other scoobs were farther away and
managed to stay on their feet. When the dust settles, they see the Jah-Din on the floor, apparently dead.
Willow gets up, blood coming from a wound on her head, and walks towards the rest. Her jacket is ruined.
WILLOW
Why do they always want me? That was a good jacket!
WILLOW
Is everyone okay?
Suddenly, the Jah-Din gets up and jumps towards Dawn, who is closest. Dawn fires her crossbow but the demon jumps
aside. Then, Andrew shoves his sword in the demon's stomach. This seems to hurt the demon more than anything and he
crumbles to the floor.
DAWN *smiles*
Thanks for that
Giles grabs his axe and cuts the demon's head off.
GILES
Just to be sure this time
XANDER
So, G... what was that?
GILES
I don't know. I'll have to consult my books.
KENNEDY
Some things never change.
WILLOW
You guys go, I'll get rid of the body
GILES
Alright. Meet us back at the Magic Box.
Xander, Giles, Kennedy, Dawn and Andrew walks away, leaving Willow with the Jah-Din. Willow concentrates and the body
of the Jah-Din starts burning. Willow keeps concentrating and the fire starts burning more and more intense. Willow's
conecntration keeps the surrounding from catching fire. After a few minutes, all that's left is ashes.
GLORY (O.S)
Who the hell do you think you are, just... attacking my minions?
Willow turns around and sees Glory standing not far from her.
WILLOW
Well, well.. if it isn't the crazy Hellgod herself. You are *that* anxious to get killed again?
GLORY
Not this time witch. I'll kill you all this time.
WILLOW
Like I never heard that one before. Just get lost.
GLORY
Is that what you told that girlfriend of yours? I haven't seen her around?
Glory smiles when she sees her taunts have the effect she wanted; Willow is getting angry.
GLORY *pouts*
Well, I can't blame her for dumping you.
WILLOW *angry*
Shut up!
GLORY
Did I hit a nerve there, witch?
WILLOW *angry*
You are going to die, just like last time.
GLORY
But this time, you don't have little miss Buffy, you don't have that stupid orb and not a magic
hammer. But it's too bad that that girlfriend of yours isn't here. She had the sweetest mind.
Willow's eyes turn black and she points her hands at Glory. A bolt of energy strikes from her hands and hits Glory.
Glory staggers back. She's hurt a little, but not a lot.
GLORY
Hey! Watch the dress!
WILLOW
Stay away from us!
GLORY *sarcastic*
Hmmm, let me think....... no. You see, I'm gonna kill you and then the rest of your little group.
Then I'll find another way to my home.
WILLOW
Agitatio alicubi
Willow then claps her hands together and Glory disappears. Willow falls down on the floor with a bleeding nose.
She gets up holding her head in pain.
WILLOW
Teleportation spell still a bad idea.
She manages to get up and moves away.

Glory appears in the middle of a small forest.
GLORY
Well... at least I'm on the floor

The next day, Willow is sitting alone in the living room of the Summers' house. The table is full of books that appear to
be of the college type. The doorbell rings. Willow gets up and opens the door. She sees Mitch standing there.
MITCH
Hey.... just here to pick up Dawn
WILLOW
Well.... Dawn is not here
MITCH
She's not? Where is she?
WILLOW
She and Andrew are shopping.
MITCH *fake smile*
Right... ok, sorry to have bothered you.
Mitch then turns his back and walks away. Willow stands in the doorway.

Dawn and Andrew are walking together through the Sunnydale mall. Andrew is carrying a small bag of peanuts that he
is eating on the way.
ANDREW
So... what'd you get for Kennedy?
DAWN *smiles*
Bath oils. Always a good idea to give a girl. And you?
ANDREW
Me and Giles have been looking for that weapon we talked about.
DAWN
Right. And... did you find anything?
ANDREW
We found a sword that seems interesting. One of the suppliers in Cairo offered it.
ANDREW
At first I wanted to buy Kennedy the full Star Wars series... you know... to upgrade her knowledge
of such important things, but..... Xander told me not to.
Dawn laughs and the two keep walking.
ANDREW
Why are we here anyway? We already have all the stuff we need.
DAWN
I'm gonna buy a new outfit for tomorrow and I need a male's opinion.... Oh, here it is.
Dawn walks into a clothing store and Andrew follows her.
Scene changes to Andrew sitting on a chair and Dawn coming out of the dressing room, wearing a white dress.
DAWN *looking hopefull*
What do you think?
It's clear that Andrew loves the outfit.
ANDREW *stutters*
Very... uh... b.. beautiful
DAWN
Really?
Dawn slowly spins around and Andrew almost chokes on a peanut.
DAWN
Can I take that as a yes.
ANDREW
Most definitely. You're very beautiful
Andrew realizes what he just said.
ANDREW
I mean... the dress is very beautiful.
Dawn walks back in the dressing room.

We are at the Magic Box. Kennedy and Giles have just finished training.
KENNEDY
That was a short training. Are you okay?
GILES *smiles*
Of course I am.... I thought you all were going to the Bronze?
KENNEDY
Yes we are.
GILES
Happy birthday kennedy
KENNEDY
How did you know that?
Kennedy immediately realizes that's a stupid question.
KENNEDY
So, do I get any presents?
GILES
Actually yes. Xander made a weapon for you
KENNEDY *smiles*
Oh really! Let's go
Kennedy walks towards the door. Giles cannot hide a little smile. He then walks after Kennedy.

They enter the Harris' residence. Giles flicks on the lights and the room is filled with people.
CROWD
Happy Birthday!
Kennedy didn't expect this and almost trips over her feet as she staggers back. Most of the people in the room are
unknown. We do see Willow, Xander, Andrew and Dawn there. It's about thirty people so the entire living room of casa
Harris is filled. All the people then storm over to Kennedy to say happy birtday and give their presents.

Later that evening, everyone is at the Bronze, dancing away. Giles is standing at a table, Xander is dancing with one
of Kennedy's friends, Willow and Kennedy are dancing and Andrew and Dawn are also dancing.
Scene shifts to Willow and Kennedy.
WILLOW *to Kennedy*
You really had no idea?
KENNEDY
I didn't even know I mentioned my birthday?
WILLOW
Well... you didn't... I used the resources of the council to find out.
KENNEDY
Naughty Willow.
WILLOW
I am, aren't I?
Scene shifts to Dawn and Andrew. They are looking directly in each others eyes.
ANDREW
Having fun?
DAWN
Yes
They keep staring in each other eyes, not speaking anymore. They both lean in and kiss.
Willow, who stands with her back to them, doesn't see anything, but Kennedy does. She pretends she doesn't see anything.
Meanwhile, Andrew and Dawn continue kissing.
