Redd scooted to one side, letting Virgil out from underneath her, then ducking her head as she followed him out to the platform. She smiled and nodded a greeting to Calenderi as the little dragon appeared, but had no idea of the exchange between human "pet" and dragon. Turning, she looked out over the docking area, the other battered mechs and ships, the techs scurrying around, trying to fix everything at once, then looked back at Virgil, grinning.
"Yes, it does, although now I'm not plastered and wet from near-stripping in a fountain...boy was I messed up that--"
Since she was unaware of what the violet-eyed youth was planning, she kept babbling on until she felt the ring on her finger, whereas she gasped the looked down at it, then at him. Just a smidgen confused and wanting to talk rather than kiss, she pushed at his chest....but then it came to her, belatedly, as most things do, what the ring meant...and what he meant by surprise. Her arms were thrown violently around his neck, body--round belly included--pressed to his with so much force it nearly threw them off the platform. She pulled back a few moments later, looking at him with sparkling eyes, her bottom lip trembling, a wild smile on her lips.
"If this thinks what I say I mean...um, I mean....if this says what I think it thinks...no..dammit...if this says what I think it does....and you're too chicken to actually ask me.." She nudged him in the side, her voice teasing. "...well whatever the circumstances, I don't care how you ask it the answer will always be the same..."
Here, she leaned close once more, laying her head on his shoulder.
"Virgil, I loved you since...well, a few days after I met you...you are the most precious thing in my life besides this little one.." She patted her belly. "..but he's yours, too, so that accounts for part of you...and I...oh, I'm babbling...the point is yes, yes yes yes and yes!"
