Kuso!! Virgil fired, but the man was already phasing out. his laughter echoing through the alley.

Arrrrgh! THAT DOES IT!! Seething, he floated to the floor of the alley, ducked behind a dumpster, and chnged back into his original clothing, figuring his ego'd taken enough abuse for one day. He'd rather be captured than put up with any more of this shit. He washed his face off at a nearby spigot, then ditched the wig and dress in favor for his usual shirt, jeans and leather pilot's jacket.

"I can't believe you undid all my work..." Calenderi lamented.

"Quiet before I find out whether you taste like chicken," Virgil shot back.

Five minutes later, Virgil came out on the other side of the alley as if nothing had happened. He was going after them, of course--if only to get the man (who he'd officially nicknamed "That Prick") back for laughing at him. But, as he spotted a jewler's across the street, he remembered there was one matter ha had to take care of first.

He headed inside and scanned the cases until he found he was looking for--a beautiful platinum ring with a faitly glowing, goassemer-thin strand of gold surrounding the setting, almost like a halo. Best of all, the stone wasn't set yet. He pulled out the 3 carat DreamCrystal he'd just bought, visualling how it'd look once it was set into the ring...then smiling at the thought of what the finished product would look like on Redd's finger...

He picked out a matching platinum band for himself, then called the man over. "How much to set these two stones into those two rings?"

Soon he walked out, his bank account now much lighter than when he walked in. Still, he was fortunate--his position as a test pilot had paid VERY well, and he'd had nowhere to spend the cash on a backwater planet like Terra VII; otherwise, he'd never have been able to afford it. He'd also arranged for them to deliver the finished rings to the Yamato-4 before it left port.

All right...back to work...

Trouble was, Virgil had no leads. With that transporter, the man and his four (ooc: wait, isn't it supposed to be five of them?) prisoners could be anywhere on the station by now. For now Virgil headed down the street, looking around. It looked like those fugitives had come from this direction, so perhaps there might be come clues...
