"Oh, don't!" she said sharply, as the mare failed to nip it. "If you do that, it'll just hurt more, you know." She put the cap back on the bottle. "Sorry for snapping at you," she said, more calmly. "Just, if you bite your cut, it won't get any better, it could get worse. We don't want it to get worse, so I was worried right then." She put the two bottles back in her bag, then picked up the gauze, watching the mare's head to make sure she wasn't about to bite at her cut again.
