Subject: From Another Board

This message was posted on JB's board and neither Gale nor I can get a post to go through answering the post. So I brought it over here so that I can answer to this absolute lie. Yes Caleric I am calling you a liar because you are!

Gale contacted me several months ago about his Boerboel that he purchased from someone else. The dog had already been appraised at the first appraisal in Winchester Virginia while owned by someone else. Gale stated to me that he had cross bred the dog to a female AB x rott that he had and said that she had just had puppies. He asked me if he could have the "BOERBOEL" re-appraised. As a matter of rule: if the dog has already been appraised and is a boerboel, yes he can. However, I told him the pups could not be appraised and would not be appraised. Gale then asked me if he would be run off if he brought a couple of the pups to the appraisal day to show the South Africans what he had done. No he would not be run off is what I told him. He wanted to get their opinion of his cross (NOT AN APPRAISAL). I find this whole story nothing but an absolute insult to people with common sense.
Gale is proud of his puppies and I can not tell him what to do with his dogs no more than he can tell me what to do with mine. I told him I don't agree with the crossing of the breeds. He understood that but again he is going to do what ever he wants to regarding his dogs. If he wants to have the male boerboel re-appraised he can it is his choice, but the pups from the cross-breeding can not and will not be appraised and for anyone to say that I told him he could have them appraised is a straight up liar. I am quite sure Gale will also say the same thing. Come on people use your common sense here or Caleric get a life and put something in print that is factual and not a twisted bunch of lies aimed at discrediting me, the SABT or Gale. Melinda Proffer PS. I also have all of this on email proving the conversation between Gale and I and that he knows and understands the pups from the cross breeing can not be appraised.

Subject: What is a Boerboet to the SABT?

A friend sold his male Boerboel to a breeder who breeds bandog type dogs. This breeder breed the Boerboel to an American Bulldog X Rottweiler female. From pictures I've seen on the web the puppies could pass for a Boerboel, the female was a solid dark fawn color. This breeder talked to an American representative of the SABT. He told them about the puppies, and about the parents. They said they are willing to take a look at the puppies at the next appraisals and depending on how they look, appraise them as a Boerboel. What does this say about the SABT and their appraisal system?? I can understand unknowingly appraising these bandogs as Boerboels, but knowingly appraising them is another thing. Does the SABT and other organizations consider the Boerboel to be just a bandog?
