Subject: in my humble opinion...

hi, cj...
i agree with your comments in part but....
PEOPLE are just as much a part of breeding as the dogs.
integrity, ethics, honesty....it ALL plays a role and it doesn't matter whether the breeder is breeding a first litter or is an established one breeding their 103rd.
the first post read in part:
The puppy is crippled by hip displaysia. He can't run, he walks with a limp, and he is in almost constant pain. It is hard for him to get up and he prefers to lay very still as much of the day as he can. His paws are splayed out and his kness are splayed in. His temperment is very weak, he is frightened and nervous. He has had no training that I can see and it appears very little socialization. At seven months he can't run around the block, go for a hike, sit on commmand, or walk correctly on a leash.
in another post, the owner stated:
I understand that all pups are not perfect. I didn't care if this was a perfect dog, I just wanted a healthy and active pet. My objection here is that information on the real condition of this puppy was not made available to me. Either the two SABT breeders were unable to recognize that the puppy had bad hips and a weak temperment or someone omitted the truth.

This puppy is 7 months old not 8 weeks. This puppy can not run, he shuffles with a limp, he can not get up from a prone postion by using his back legs. He whines in pain when he changes positions while he is laying down.

i fully admit that i am not involved with any of the parties.
i haven't seen the dog; more than likely never will.
BUT....
others posted the same questions i had myself and they weren't based on hatefulness or spite.
they were (in my opinion) normal questions that ANYONE would ask, given the comments that were made.
the dog may very well have a broken toe but the original poster certainly had more to say about the dogs pain than that would warrant.
it DID bring into play the ethics, integrity and honesty of those who had were responsible for the dog before the owner received it and as well it should.
ms. proffer and robin may well be truthful in their accounting but...
someone IS being dishonest about this dog.
it's either crippled or not.
it's either in extreme pain or it's not.
and, since we ALL (regardless of whatever mud might get slung) care about the well-being of these creatures, lies about them shouldn't be tolerated from any party, whether it be newbie owner or established breeder.
