I've installed my system myself a (120 channel master motorised dish) myself. The hardest part is actually finding a suitable location and and fixing the dish securely (to wall, roof or whatever) With that done I've found that dish alignment is quite simple. No meters or anything required as long as you can see a tv while you adjust.Using the signal strength meter(from the system menu) from the digibox was enough.

So assuming
1)you know roughly where to look in the sky for 2d
2)you know the correct dish elevation for your location
3)your dish, cable, box combination is good enough for your location

then my advice is that unless you've got two left hands give it a go and you can save a few euros.

My technique is to move the dish around in roughly the direction of the satellite till the meter registers something. Then start making small adjustments (wait a few seconds each time) till you get a lock. Then few more small adjustments to maximize strength and quality.

For a final fine-adjustment you can use a damp cloth (!).
Put it over the lnb till the signal drops to about 50%. It's then much easier to see the effect of small adjustments to dish(and lnb skew)

I've done this a few times now and alignment doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes.

/Iain
