Priorities
Sequel to Goodbye to You

Day after Robin's performance at Luke's
The Penthouse

Robin slowly walks down the stairs still in her pajamas after an uneasy night of sleep, the only thing she wanted was a steaming cup of coffee to wake her up, she knew her usual cup of tea just wouldn't work today. So intent on her quest for java she didn't even notice Sonny standing at the windows until he spoke.

Sonny: Good morning, sweetheart. (Robin jumps a little at his voice and turns to him) Did you sleep all right; you look kind of tired, do you want me to get you some tea?

Robin: I'm a little tired; do you have any coffee left?

Sonny: (walking towards the kitchen) Yeah, you have a seat and I'll get you a cup.

Robin: (walks over and sits on the sofa) Thanks.

Sonny: (walks back into the room and over to the sofa, handing her the cup) Here (watches as she takes a couple of sips) Do you want to talk about it?

Robin: (turns to him) I don't think there's much left to say, he didn't come home last night and I knew he understood what I was saying in that song, so I guess I'll start looking for a new place to live.

Sonny: (shakes his head) No, you can still live here, this is my penthouse, I’ll kick him out.

Robin: (smiles sadly) You can't do that Sonny, he's your best friend and I don't what to put you in the middle like that. Besides this place has too many memories for me to live here.

Sonny: (put his arm around her) Sweetie, he might be my best friend, but you’re my family and that always comes first. I understand about the memories though, I can barley stand it here too; everywhere I look I see Brenda. (hoarsely) God, I miss her.

Robin: (hugs him tightly) Me too, I wish she was here everyday.

Sonny: (after a couple minutes of silence) Hey, why don't you dressed and I'll cook up some breakfast for us? I'll even make you some pancakes, (smiles) they might not be Mac's but I've been told I've got some skills in the kitchen.

Robin: (smiling) Sure, (stands up and heads towards the stairs) I'm going to take a quick shower and I'll be right back.

Sonny: (stands up and heads towards the kitchen) Okay.

While Sonny starts preparing the pancake batter his mind drifts back to last night. He knew Jason was hurting after the song but he just couldn't bring him self to care, after seeing how he'd treated Robin the past couple of days he'd found that he had to often stop himself from decking his "best friend." He watched, as Jason would drop everything and leave the second Carly called spouting off some kind of problem with Michael and then Jason would return hours later and he acted as if it didn't happen. He was sorely mistaken if he thought Robin would just put her life on hold for his delusional family, because even if she didn't say anything about, he would have, nobody treats his little sister that way and gets away with it. He walks out to the dining room table and places the food down, then pours him self some coffee while setting up Robin with a cup of tea. Thinking that maybe he can convince Robin to join him on a short vacation, to get her mind away from Jason. His musing is cut short when he hears Robin descending the stairs.

Robin: (walks over to the table and seats next to Sonny) Smells delicious.

Sonny: (smiling) I'll bet it taste even better, you feeling better?

Robin: (nods her head) Yeah, the shower really helped clear my head. (there's silence as both begin to eat) So, what are you planning to do today?

Sonny: My day is free; if your serious about not staying here, I could help you find a new place?

Robin: (smiles gratefully) I'd like that.

Sonny: (smiles back) Good, I'm going about of town for a couple of days for a mini vacation. (Robin looks up to him) Did you want to go with me?

Robin: Wouldn't that be running away for my problems?

Sonny: Nope, (grins impishly) think of it as a family vacation, you can accompany your big brother so that he would be lonely. You'll problems will be right here waiting for you when you get back.

Robin: (grins back) Well, if you put it that way, where are we going and when do we leave?

Sonny: We can leave today and as for where, well where do you want to go, a beach or a ski slope?

Robin: Beach, some place really warm.

Sonny: (gets up and walks over to the phone) You got it, I'll call Benny and have him setup everything.

Robin: Cool.

Jake's

While Sonny and Robin are planning their vacation across town, Jason Morgan is waking up to possibly the worst hangover he has ever had. Right after Robin had left last night, he took Michael and Carly home, then proceeded to Jake's to get drunk. He had paid the bartender for two bottles of Jack Daniels, and then left for his old room not wanting to talk to anyone. He grabbed the picture of Robin off his desk then sat on the bed staring at it all night only taking his eyes off her beautiful face to refill his glass. He'd gotten though half of the first bottle when the enormity of his situation finally hit him over the head; he had stole his brother's son. Carly had played on his dislike for his family and emotional ties to her son to get her way and he had let her. And in the end it cost him the only thing in his life that really ever mattered to him: Robin.

He let the whole town including Robin's family think he cheated on her and produced a son with someone else and if that wasn't bad enough he later asked her to let Carly live with them in Robin's own home. Contrary to some people's beliefs he wasn't stupid, he knew Carly wanted him but he thought he could control her and her manipulations and still keep Robin with him. The rest of the JD was consumed rather quickly after his little moment of clarity; he wanted to be numb and pretend everything was okay. Now he was paying for the numbness with one nasty headache; it seems very fitting. He slowly got up and took a long hot shower while thinking about is life and his priorities, but most importantly how to get Robin back. He knew his way of dealing with Carly wasn't working and that he needed to rectify his current state of affairs, and he finally knew how. Putting on his leather jacket he walks out the door with a new sense of self and a new set of priorities.

Penthouse

Sonny walks down the stairs carrying the last piece of the their luggage, chucking every few minutes hearing the phone conversion going on between Robin and Mac. Robin hears his chuckling and turns to glare at him, while trying to calm down her uncle.

Robin: (calmly) Uncle Mac, it's only going to be a couple of days. No I won't reconsider. (Loudly to get his attention) Mac, it's my life and I'll see you next week. (disconnects the phone and turns towards to Sonny, dryly) I think that went well.

Sonny: (laughs) Yeah, we should hurry before he sends one of his officers to get you. (there's a knock at the door, he turns to Robin with an arced eyebrow) Man, he's fast. (Robin just laughs while Sonny yells towards the door) Come in.

Johnny: (opens the door and nods to Sonny before turning to Robin) Luke Spencer to see you.

Robin: (a little confused) Okay, show him in. (Johnny opens the door and waves Luke in, closing the door behind him.) Hey Luke.

Luke: (walks over to Robin, noticing the luggage but not saying anything, he hugs her tightly) You Luv, were terrific last night. You left before I could thank you, so thank you.

Robin: (smiling) You're welcome, but you didn't have to come all the way over here to do that, you want something, don't you?

Luke: (sits down next to her) You're right, after you left they were calling for an encore for ten minutes, I swear I almost had a riot on my hands. What do you say about making your singing at my club a regular thing?

Robin: (shocked) Thanks but no, I really don't like to sing in public.

Luke: (pleading) Aw, come on, one night a week, 10 songs a night, that's all I'm asking.

Sonny: You know it might be fun sweetie, why don't you give it a try, maybe for change of pace.

Robin: How about I think about it on our vacation and give you an answer when I come back?

Luke: Sounds great, where you two going?

Sonny: Puerto Rico, we'll be back next week.

Luke: (hugs Robin again then gets up and walks towards the door) I'll be waiting, you two have fun.

Robin and Sonny: Bye Luke.

Sonny: (turns towards Robin) You ready to go?

Robin: Yep, (smiles) lets go before Mac really sends his force after me.

Reginald: Hello Ho .. (his words of greeting stilled when he saw who was at the door, quickly snapping out of it) Jason, what can I help you with?

Jason: Is AJ Here?
