Subject: Prioroties Part 2

Part 2

Quartermaine Mansion

Reginald: (confused) Yeah, do you want me to get him for you?

Jason: (determined) Yes, I need to speak with him alone.

Reginald: All right, why don't you go to the den and I�ll track down AJ.

Jason: (walking towards the den) Thanks. (he nervously searches the room waiting for AJ to show, still not 100% sure of what he was going to say, you can't really start a conversion with: I stole your son. He turns when he hears the door open and AJ walks in) Hey.

AJ: (confused as to why Jason wanted to speak to him and by the sudden ability to see emotion on Jason face) Hey, you wanted to talk to me?

Jason: (nervously) Yeah, there's something I need to tell you (AJ nods) I really don't know how to say it. (pausing he looks directly in AJ's eyes) Michael's not my son.

AJ: (shocked) What.

Jason: (softly) Michael's not mine and Carly�s son, I never cheated on Robin with Carly. Carly showed up one raining night and asked for my help. Both you and Tony were threatening to take her child and she played on my dislike for my family; so I told her I would help her. She proposed that I say Michael was mine until she had enough time to get everything in order, but then she had the troubled birth and her post traumatic stress got to her and she asked me to take care of her son for a little while longer. I agreed and then I gradually fell in love with him; I knew he wasn't mine, but when Carly came back I couldn't let go. So I told her I would always provide for her and Michael if she would stay with me, I guess I gave her the meal ticket she was looking for.

AJ: (a thousand emotions were swirling inside AJ; hurt and anger towards his brother, regret and sadness at missing about out on his child's life, confusion as to why was Jason was now telling him. He roughly pulls everything in and address his brother) Michael's mine and you kept him from me, after the blood test I never question that he could be mine. Now you tell me, why?

Jason: A couple of reasons one, it would hurt Michael when he would eventually find out the truth. Two, Carly is using him as a pawn and doesn't even try to by a mother to him; all she cares about is shopping and getting me into bed. And lastly it cost me the one thing I wasn't willing to give up.

AJ: (put two and two together, the song that Robin sung last night and now Jason confessing) Robin gave you an ultimatum, her or Michael and you chose her.

Jason: No, Robin would never do that, she knew I loved that boy and she thought she was second in my life, so she did the only thing she could, she let me go.

AJ: Robin knew all a long that he wasn't yours, didn't she?

Jason: Yeah, she knew that I would never cheat on her with Carly.

AJ: Okay, I glad you finally came clean but what now? I want to be a part of my son's life but know Carly isn't going to want to change anything, so what do we do?

Jason: Before I came here, I went to my lawyer and had papers drawn up to give my custody of Michael with Carly to you. I also had papers drawn up to change the birth certificate.

AJ: Don't you need you need Carly signature to do that?

Jason: No, I have power of attorney for Carly and Michael. Once the paper work goes though next week you will have joint custody of Michael, which means you get him half the week and every other weekend. You can have you lawyer go over everything tomorrow.

AJ: Sounds good. (stands up) I'm not going to say thank you for giving me my son back after stealing him (seeing Jason nod in understanding) but I am grateful you realized your mistake. (shakes Jason's hand) For what it's worth I hope you can get Robin back.

Jason: (heading to the door) Me too, (turns to AJ) I know it's not going to be easy but I'm not letting her go, I can't she's my life.

Hour later
The Penthouse

Jason: (walks into the penthouse and takes a look around, it was cold and empty, and an air of despair seemed to always linger above, choking the occupants with painful memories. He thought it was odd that nobody was on the door; whenever Sonny went out he always left a guard. He walked over to the desk and called Benny.) Hey, it's me, why are there no guards on the door? (pauses) Oh, I didn't know, no I'm sure one of them will give me a call. Thanks Benny. (he walks over to the bar and pours himself a drink) A few days in Puerto Rico will be great for her, I can handle all the Michael business before she gets back and them we can live happily ever after. Just like in one of Brenda's fairy tales.

A few days later
Luke's

Jason waits nervously for Robin and Sonny to arrive, he'd called Benny and Benny said they landed an hour ago and were heading to Luke's for Dinner. He occasionally notices the stares and glare that are sent his way from various patrons of the bar; the day after he told AJ the truth, the news had spread like wild fire though the town. He had a few heated encounters with the Quartermaines and one huge blow-up with Carly. He'd went to her after leaving the penthouse and told her the truth and she had blown up big-time, there were tears, yells, threats, begging, and finally anger; all in all it was a typical Carly reaction. He'd left and now they weren't even friends, she would ignore him and he would return the favor. He looks across the room and sees her with AJ talking, she'd gone over to the Quartermaines and AJ told her he wouldn't take her son away from her and if she wanted he would take care of her. The next day she moved in and went from Jason's meal ticket to AJ's without pause.

Alan, Monica, and Edward weren't talking to him and normally that would be good, but for some reason it didn't feel right; Emily was wary around him, finally realizing that he wasn't perfect and had faults. Grandmother would talk to him, she never took sides but he could clearly see the disappointed in her eyes at him. He feels a heated glare directed towards him and turns slightly to see Mac sitting with Felicia staring daggers at him, they had almost come to blows two days ago. Mac was raging about him treating Robin like dirt for a child that wasn't even his and in a surprise move it was Taggert that had pulled Mac away before anything happened. He breaks the staring contest he was having with Mac when something at the door caught his eye, Robin and Sonny had just walked in.

Jason: (walks over to them) Sonny, Robin it good to see you. Robin, can I talk to you for a minute?

Sonny: I don't �

Robin: (interrupts Sonny, still not ready to put him in the middle) Sonny, it's okay why don't you get us a table. (turns to Jason) Let go into Luke's office.

Jason: (grabs her hand and turns to the back office) Okay

Robin: (waves to Mac and Luke and a couple other people before closing the door behind them) So, what do you want to talk about?

Jason: (straight to the point) I told AJ the truth (sees her shocked face, he rapidly begins to explain) I told him the day you left, I've cut all ties to both Carly and Michael. It was wrong for me to ever steal him like I did, it was even worst for me to expect you to live a lie with me. I made it so the whole town thought I cheated on you and I never defended you to anyone. I'm so sorry I put Michael and Carly above you. You should have been my top priority and I swear if you take me back you will always be number one in my heart. I'm immensely remorseful for my behavior the past few months; please take me back. (he stares at Robin and sees several emotions playing on her face; surprise, shock, regret, determination, and finally a deep wrenching sadness, before he can ask what's wrong Luke barges into the room) What..

Luke: (ignores Jason and walk over to Robin, picking her up into a huge bear hug) Luv, it is great to see you, how was your trip?

Robin: (smiles slightly) Great, I had fun and sorted out most of my problems. I even decided to sing at your club.

Luke: (smiles widely) Wonderful, I actually came back her to ask you a favor (seeing Robin's eyebrow lift) Most of the people out there saw you come in and they're demanding an encore. The place is jumping and they're all demanding you.

Robin: (unbelieving) Who out there and wants me to sing?

Luke: Why the Robin fan club, Jax, Chloe, Ned, Alexis, Lucky, Liz, Emily, Nikloas, some Quartermaines, your uncle, and do I really got to continue?

Robin: (laugh slightly) No, I get it. Well, I guess I can do one song tonight but no more; I'm starving.

Luke: (laughs, hugging her tightly) You got it, Luv. I'll give you five minutes.

Robin: Okay (turns back to Jason, not really knowing what to say) Um, can this discussion wait for a while?

Jason: (smiling, thinking everything is okay) Sure, I'll just wait at the bar and then we can go home, it'll be like old times just you and me, it's all we need.

Robin: (starts walking out to the bar, her smile fading, she quietly whispers) Yeah home. (Robin stops at Sonny's table and explains what is happening, while Luke goes up to the house band and tells them to prepare for Robin.)

Luke: (hits the mike) Hey everybody, I talked to Robin and she agreed to sing for us (cheers go up in the bar slightly drowning out Luke's voice) so ladies and gentlemen, Robin Scorpio.

Robin: (makes her way up to the band and talks with them about the music, she then walks over to the mike as a soft beat filters out of the speakers) Here we go again. (Locks eyes with Jason, knowing this is going to hurt him, but not really caring at the moment.)

Robin: (walks off the stage to cheers and whistles, heading towards a miserable looking Jason, she finally get there and everyone in the bar is quiet, not even pretending not to stare at them. She leans up and kisses him softly on the lips, a goodbye kiss) I'm sorry Jason, but I can't be with you anymore. I can't compromise my thoughts and beliefs for you anymore; I just can't pretend everything is as it was before. So I'm moving on, you'll always be in my heart, but I can't afford to have you in my life.

Jason: (the whole bar watches as Robin leaves the club, leaving a heartbroken Jason behind, not even looking back as a tear traces down his cheek as he quietly whispers) No.

The End.
For real this time, I just couldn't write a happy ending to this one.
