Subject: MBB Asst. Coaching Carousel

Is Howie going to stick with 2 Assistants and a staff super for the upcoming season? It seems a little short handed to me.
Especially with 6 new faces in the mix.

no he is not. there will be news on this in the coming weeks but some things are being finalized.

I completely agree with you Mike... Steve C. is without question Howies Right hand guy. I think he is doing a great job!

Let's face it...the only REAL assistant coach from last year was Steve Curran. Curran did a massive amount of game prep, recruiting (still was on the road as of Aug 1) and scheduling. Sparks was a great guy, and a motivator but really not a big piece of the puzzle.

That statement is just wrong. The scheduling is not done by Curran, and every assistant coach does game prep, they alternate.

Did anyone notice Phil Martelli Jr was on the move again. He left Manahattan for Niagara (in conference rivals). Lamar Barrett left New Haven also, but I don't know where he ended up...no return to Central??Right? Even though Papacs was a mid/late season replacement for Sirois (sp?) is looks like he is sticking around. My buddy sat next to Coach D on a plane to Orlando the week before last, it took him a little while to figure out who he was. Howie did mention he was very proud of the schedule.

I would place a bet on none of the last generation of asst coaches (Barrett) coming back thru the door.
