Did I ever say the athletic departments should be equal? I'm pretty sure I never did. It is fairly obvious that Uconn has many more people on the athletic staff than CCSU, and I am not debating that point. My point is that Uconn has built its athletic department with state money, and I feel CCSU deserves the same respect. We basically play in a high school gym. It's a disgrace. J.J. made great points that the entire CSU funding is dwarfed by Uconn. CSU students get far less funding per student than Uconn students do. How is that right? My point is that people have become complacent with CCSU getting shafted by the state. Howie has built a program with great players and role models, and since there is no pro team in Connecticut (and like uconn, numerous CCSU alumni still live in the state), I don't see why it is such a outlandish claim that CCSU's athletic department (and academic) deserves a great deal more funding. CCSU could develop a great fan base if the facilities were upgraded, which would allow us to explore options to move to a better conference (A-10). Uconn's athletic department wasn't built over night and required a great deal of state funding. Why isn't CCSU given the same respect? Uconn's football team was given a golden ticket to Division I, and we can't even get a new on-campus athletic facility. You act like Uconn deserves ever cent they get while we scramble for pennies that Uconn drops. You act like Uconn pulled its athletic department up by its own bootstraps, which is certainly not the case. If we were given more money and respect, I could see CCSU developing into a popular little athletic program, but it doesn't look like it will ever happen.

I NEVER SAID THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENTS SHOULD BE EQUAL, BUT THE VAST DISCREPENCIES BETWEEN THE TWO IS A DISGRACE. IF YOU CAN'T SEE THAT THEN, YES, YOU ARE A MORON. Thank you J.J. for listening to my whole argument instead of putting words in my mouth and then bashing me.
