Subject: The Q got Smacked

Man the Q got smacked around vs. Uconn last night. I guess the coaches game plan didnt work ( wich was to Matchup directly at Uconn). A 48 point loss really stings. I dont like the Q but no player ( kid ) deserves that.

Well we got smacked on the boards against Charlotte. This lack of height is killing our team.

once again you're wrong and couldn't be more wrong. rebounding, although a wide margin, was not the reason for the loss. Santa Clara was bigger and CCSU outrebounded them didn't they? in fact, they've outrebounded 5 of 9 opponents this season.

Fine. When we play BIG, ATHLETIC teams we will get killed on the boards. We really have no shot of winning against any kind big time program, unlike in the previous years. Keep telling yourself height isn't our problem. Lets keep playing Hickenbottom who can't score or rebound, but plays "tough" D.

Those two statements have nothing to do with one another. Yes, CCSU struggles against bigger teams, but everyone struggles against UConn genius. CCSU did not struggle against Charlotte because of their lack of height, they struggled because Charlotte is a top-25 caliber team with a lottery pick leading their team. And they only won by 14, seems like CCSU had a shot to win to me. I'm still wondering how you can comment on games you don't see.

Hey Genius, remember when Central almost beat Providence, who also has a first round pick on their team (Gomes)? We used to be able to compete against big teams. We actually kept it extremely close until late in 4th quarter of the Pitt game when we made the tournament a couple years ago. We used to be able to compete against these type of schools. Now were getting spanked by Niagara. Charlotte is not up to the calaber of either of those teams. Its hard to even care about this team, because even if they win the NEC, I really dont want to watch them in the tournamanet. I can imagine how its going to go: We shoot a 3 and never get a rebound, we keep it close for a couple minutes then get cold and get blown out. You have to admit this was not a good recruiting class. WE HAVE 2 BIG MEN PROJECTS, AND A 6'6 JC KID THAT CAN'T EVEN GET ANY MINUTES. Our best rebounder is Obie, who gets killed when he plays a team with size (niagara, uconn, charlotte).

"Its hard to even care about this team, because even if they win the NEC, I really dont want to watch them in the tournament..."

Then don't watch and don't care. One less know-it-all critic to worry about reading on a daily basis.

CCSU20M you have a right to your opinions (however unrealistic they may be), but can't you see a the positives, while recognizing they have stuff to work on?

Are you really that disappointed we lost to Niagara, UConn, and Charlotte? Come on, don't you think we should have beat Samford and FIU at home - those were games I penciled in as wins. The 3 games you cite were road games against very tough opponents with NBA caliber talent, senior leadership and yes, height. We are young, small, and often times cold shooting. We need to worry about no bad losses and a top 4 finish in the NEC so we can host a first round game. They are well on their way to having a real shot at another NCAA bid.

Now, other than the 2 bad losses I cited, I think we should never schedule really low RPI teams (250+) like Loyola becasue even with a win it can hurt our seeding in the NCAAs (if we make it) and in years we don't but have some quality wins it would kill any chance at a NIT bid. With the win against Loyola we moved down 25 RPI points and it will only get worse with the NEC schedule.
