soften up their schedule? What does that mean? Why would CCSU leave the NEC for the MAAC, the NEC isn't exactly a powerhouse league. And noone in the league gives out full scholarships, it's all need-based aid and scholarships in the NEC. And what past interview would anyone ever say "soften-up"? The only thing that has ever been said is that CCSU will no longer open playing two A-10 teams, that's not softening up, that's just good sense.

That doessn't seem to make aany sense to me either. The NEC is about the weakest conference in the country. Maybe, they meant the few non-conference games they play?
