"Eve!" Claire yelled. She saw the giant bipedal birds descend in every direction on the caravan. Her stomach turned and she vomited Eve was torn apart right in front of her eyes. Finding no strength to run, she crawled across the ground and over bodies away from the birds. One bird's foot swooped over her head and landed on her back. It's talons dug deep into her flesh, warm blood oozing out of the wounds and soaking into her shirt. Her ribs cracked as more weight was put on her back. Suddenly, the weight was gone. The bird had gotten distracted. Claire crawled faster away.
Stumbling across the now shreded and soaked navigator, she fumbled in one of the packs and stuffed something in her pocket. Fearing her life, she got up and ran away from the scene.
She looked up to see a break in the canopy and see the sunlight before she blacked out.
