Subject: Diesel or not ?

Hello everybody,
At first, I thought I would go on the regular 1.6 petrol model because the diesel would be to expensive, but second thought, it might be actually more interresting to go diesel ; here's why :

- According to most of the press articles, the best engine for the CC is the diesel one.
- From an economical prospective, the difference between 1.6 litre and diesel should be for me about 2800€ (hopefully, I should get 15% discount on French prices).
In France, 1 Liter of regular gas costs more or less 1€, and as the megane "drinks" 7 liters for 100 Kilometers, that would mean, I need to drive only 2800*100/7=40000 Kilometers (which I do in 2 years) to start to win some money with the diesel over the regular 1.6l.

Am I right ? I surely have forgotten other parameters that may waight the balance in one direction or an other !
