Subject: scared to ask him out

ok...there's this guy who flirts with me and other girls..but he acted more attracted to me...like staring at me and acting all sweet and everything. He and I always stare at each other. He smiles at me a lot and jokes around. He even makes sexy looks when he stares...like moving his tongue around his lips and puckering...but I don't know if he was just joking around. He rubs my hands slowly and ask me if I have felt any chemistry between us. I wanted to tell him how I felt but I was scared...you know...scared of rejections. So I said no and he paused a little bit. Then he said, "GOOD! I don't feel any chemistry either." But then we stare at each other...then look away...and then stare at each other again. His hands was still on mine. But he likes to joke around so I really can't tell how he feels. I'm afraid to ask him. But there were times that he annoyed people and some people don't like him. Deep inside, he have a great heart...but sometimes, the wrong attitude. But getting to know him, he is sweet. I don't know what to do. He also always sit next to me when we hang out with friends. I'm thinking about asking him out...but don't know what the safest way to do that...without getting rejected. I figured that we should hang out alone without our buddies..to get to know each other more and see where it will go. We're always hanging around with people and never alone. Should I ask him out? what should I say to him when I do ask him out? How should I ask him out? Please give advice! Thanks so much! I appreciate it!
