HELP_! I am what most people would call an experienced user. I have a handspring visor and a palm m130 I ahve been trying to set up the m130. I downloaded 4.1 from the web and am running on a brand new DELL with Windows XP.On close examination of the hot sync issue, I noticed that that the only port listed in the set-up is a serial com1. The program does not recognize that I have USB ports available. However, the hot-sync pop-up on the task bar at the lower right hand corner of the screen shows the possibility of both a USB and serial port. I can not overide the desktop, even though Palms own hotsync manager, in the lower right pops up with the usb. I have contacted palm. They sugguested that I make sure that the ports are operating correctly. They are and I already had. I am pretty sure it is the drivers. The 4.1 download from palm did not have the usb drivers. However, my cd does but I can't seem to use them. I can't copy them. I can't install them. Its two full days later and I 'm ready for therapy. Palm must know that this problem exists. I consdiered other options. The handheld required a dedicated port and the usbs could have internal splitters. There was insuffient voltage to run the usb port because other devices are running them. Bottom, line, I think the problem is that there are drivers to allow a set up using a USB port and the setup is only providing a serial option. I can't get anywhere. Palm told me to install the drivers from a pull-down menu which I don't beleive exist.
