These are so hard to diagnose without seeeing the actual system. I have had a lot of people with problems trying to upgrade from one device to another. My only thought at this point is the old Palm software (desktop or Hotsync Mgr) has caused some kind of conflict, causing the new device not to be recognized. The only suggestion I have right now is to try to find another machine and do a brand new install from scratch. If the install works, it says the problem is on your PC, not the hardware.

How did you delete the old Palm software? Did you delete both the desktop and the hotsync mgr? Did you save your data (address book, data book, etc)?
