In the mid-'60s, KDKA used the Saturday mid-day show to count up the songs from 40 to 1 on that week's soon-to-expire Sound Survey. Art Pallan hosted the show until he moved into the morning shift in late 1965. Then Bob Tracey took over the show.

Clark Race used to debut the new Sound Survey on Mondays, but it was not done as a countdown.
