I don't know when it closed, but I know it was still open in 1986. As there's been enumeration of pieces of equipment in this thread, there were a number of things I bought from Opus One: Kenwood DP-1100B CD Player, Supex SDX-2000 MC Cartridge, and I was close to buying a Sanyo Beta-HiFi VCR. For what it's worth, I was originally gonna buy my 1st CD player from The Sound Store, but went with a cassette deck (Harman Kardon CD-401) instead, at the salesman's recommendation because he assured me the prices of CD would come down like calculators.
