Was just a little kid in the 60's, but can still remember the delicious treat of staying up way late with my Father and older brother during the summer vacation nights and watching the Steve Allen group W show on KDKA.
I distinctly remember one night when Steve mentioned a note and some photos he received from these youngsters somewhere who couldn't stay up but had the ability to "tape" his show for playback the next day......wayyyyy before the advent of the VCR!
I also remember John Lennon mentioning sometime during his week on Mike Douglas that he always enjoyed watching Mike and therefore happy to be a guest host......John asking Mike if he could do the show.
