I briefly worked at WJAS in 1969 when it was owned by NBC and switched to news/talk. Because Bob James was hired before I was, I was told I had to change my name, so I chose Jim Davis. After about six months, Bob left, for Channel 11, as I recall, so I was told by the idiot program director to start using my real name. One morning, I anchored a newscast as Jim Davis, Bob followed me, anchoring his final cast as Bob James, then I followed him as Dave James. My six months there was so bizarre that I never included it in my resume.
