That was sultry-voiced hottie Eleanor Schano. While she had cred as a bona-fide broadcaster, she was also a major babe. The negligee was quite racy for the time, though if you see a picture of her in it now, you'd wonder what the fuss was about.

Schano was still active in broadcasting as of last year. I suspect that there's a picture of her in her attic that keeps looking older and older, because she still looks like she's half her age.

She's also one of the many broadcasters remembered for unfortunate assignments from her past, like the negligee weather-girl thing, instead of how sharp and savvy a broadcaster and author she really is. I don't know why she never made the leap to national prominence. Maybe she didn't want to leave Pittsburgh. She was certainly capable enough to have given Barbara Walters a run for her money.
