It should be remembered that a lot of the songs on a chart like this were barely played. A lot of them were not hits. To properly rotate 60 current songs is almost impossible. It should also be remembered that WIXZ never had strong ratings. It wasn't just signal, it was too much non-hit music. As much as many of us would like to think more music is best, the truth is shorter playlists mean better ratings. When WIXZ was playing a 60 60 song list, KQV was playing 40. Within a month KQV would cut that to 35 with a few Hit Bound that barely would play. By mid-October it was 30 and a few HB. They forced WIXZ to Solid Rock & Gold.
