Thought you all might get a kick out of these PSAs for GRIP--the Group for Recycling in Pennsylvania--long before it was the popular thing to do. In 1985, when Hank was to be married, he had me record the music for the reception. We were neighbors at the time. He brought over a bunch of old reel to reel tapes and I listened to what was on them and some were airchecks of his from WTAE, including a Father's Day 1973 weekend show, complete with promos for an upcoming Elvis concert. Another was an unscoped tape of him communicating with Myron Cope and Bill Hillgrove during a Steelers victory motorcade (the antenna got broken off of the car Myron was in, so there were a few tense moments). Then, there were these two PSA's with Hank and Karl Hardman, as "Louie the Garbage Man," from The Rege Cordic Show. There was no way in hell I was going to recycle those tapes, when I heard what was on them. Good thing, because Hank's second marriage went about as well as my first, at which Hank stood as my best man.
