I don't know how Doug was to work with during the later years, but in 1980, when I was a 21-year-old producer at 3WS, he was very nice to me. We had a lot of laughs, and those times when I was called upon to produce his AM talk show, the experience was enjoyable.

Although we didn't hang out away from work, we did often run into each other. And if it was at one iof his regular neighborhood restaurants, we'd grab a bite and have a nice chat.

I believe the last time I saw him was in the early 2000s. By then, I was working in marketing/PR and had a client in the same building as WJAS. After my client meeting, I stopped at the station and asked if he was around. He was about to go on the air, but he stopped to say hi, and we had a nice, though very brief, chat.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, my interactions with Doug were great. I really liked him as a person and enjoyed him as a personality.
