Of course, it turned out that Bogut's ratings were, at least in part, KDKA's ratings. The station had an audience in those days that would listen to a dead carrier or Tibetan bells on 1020. In fact a lot of KDKA listeners probably didn't know the radio had a knob that allowed them to change stations.

And a lot of people may have been listening to another station, but wrote down KDKA in their diaries because it was the only call sign they knew.
