By most accounts, he wasn't the easiest guy to work with.

He took a dislike to an engineer named Bill Roberts when they worked together at KDKA. Jack went to management and told them he wanted Bill fired. They wouldn't do that. Then he wanted Bill's shift changed so he didn't work the overnight hours. Also not possible. So Jack would come into the studio before the show started and tape sheets of the newspaper over the glass so he couldn't see Bill.
