That illustrates why some of us wax nostalgic about one thing, and others get all nostalgic about other things. I guess to most people who actually worked in radio, the launch of WPEZ is something they remember fondly. To people like me, that was the beginning of the end of the Golden Era of rock music on FM. It wasn't that long after the start of WPEZ that FM transitioned from an exciting medium to hear great new music to Top 40 with clearer reception. To fans of Top 40, or radio professionals happy with more employment opportunity, those were happy memories. To us rock music fans, not so much.
