Unlikely that the TL connection cost them airplay. "Walk" by the Fenways was No. 1 on both KQV and KDKA in March of 1965.

I remember that Clark Race played most of their other records that didn't do much, like "I'm Your Toy." Nick Cenci had a good relationship with him, so Clark was always willing to give their records a shot.

Joey Covington, who was briefly in the Fenways, tells the story that when "Hanky Panky" was becoming big at dances, Clark urged Sonny to quickly get a version out to capitalize on that. The story holds that Sonny rejected the idea, and the 1963 Tommy James single was quickly pressed and released, became a huge hit and launched a career that continues today.

"Hung Up" did OK on KQV, better on KDKA. It peaked at No. 20 on KQV, topped out at No. 11 on KDKA's Oct. 23, 1967 survey.
