I agree the station could be programmed better. But I doubt that would help that much. WLUP-AM in Chicago tried more contemporary talk with an expensive all-star lineup that included market legends Jonathan Brandmeier and Steve & Garry. It didn't succeed, and that was 20 to 25 years ago when AM still had a chance. The AM band might as well be shortwave to listeners under 40 (perhaps those under 50 now). It just isn't relevant to them. They grew up with 96KX and B94 and WDVE like we grew up with KQV, 13Q and Clark Race's KDKA.
