Your points are right but you overlooed a recent trend. Vinyl has made a small but steady and sustained comeback, much of it popular with younger people who hate digital sound. Barnes & Noble has vinyl in their record department. Major labels are releasing select new titles on CD, digital and vinyl. Small vinyl stores are popping up all over the country. Turntables exist that can be played on a computer, with software allowing the music to be downloaded to a digital medium.
