Subject: John Rook - former KQV PD - RIP

John Rook, former KQV Program Director, passed away on Tuesday 3/1. John was 78. He died of natural causes in his sleep in his home in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho with his sister Dot and his adopted son Jason. There will be no funeral. Instead he will be cremated and his ashes spread in his beloved Coeur d'Alene. A memorial gathering for his friends will be organized in the near future. RIP John!

John was KQV PD from January 1964 until December 1, 1967 before leaving for WLS in Chicago. Among John's many contributions to KQV were . . . "Fun Lovin' KQV" "Fun Lovin' Five", and "Groovy QV" "The Beatles arrival, the "KQVehicle" and much more.

Among the many personalities that came to KQV during his tenure were ... Hal Murray, Steve Rizen, Al Julius, Jim Quinn, Dex Allen, Wendy Williams, Kris Erik Stevens, Mark Schaefer, Ron Asbury, Bob Harvey, Hank Mann (Baughman), Tom Lee, Weird Beard Charlie Peterson and Bob Wilson.

John Rook was one of the most influential program dircetors in top 40 history.
