The "3 Rooms $398" porch swing commercial was Olbum's furniture store on the North Side — 504 Federal St. according to the 1959 Yellow Pages (you never know when a book like that will come in handy). I just fed the address into Google and it looks as if it was approximately on the spot where the southern entrance of the Allegheny Center Mall (or whatever it is now) parking garage.
Mabro was a home improvement company (siding, etc.) that sponsored KDKA-TV's Sunday night newscast for years. The phone number indeed was Highland 1-9988, or, in the 1960s after all-digit dialing was introduced. "People you know call Mabro... 441-9988.... MAAAAA-brooooo."
On a recent visit to Pittsburgh, I was surprised to spot Mabro in a storefront on Braddock Avenue in the Regent Square area, a few doors from the theater. Apparently it's still in business, though the jingle is long gone except in a few baby boomers' memories.
