In his autobiography, Jim Myers (a/k/a George The Animal Steele) devotes many pages to his early wrestling years in Pittsburgh, including his lodging at the Roosevelt Hotel, and how helpful and encouraging Bruno Sammartino was to Myers. On TV and at the Arena, they were arch-foes. "Off stage" they were great friends.
