I remember the TV show -- "Jazzbeau's Rehearsal." Came on late at a time when stations still used to sign off. He had a group of regulars who hung out, too, sort of like what Doug Hoerth would do later with his "group." Joe Browne, who wrote the folksy "Our Towne" column in the Post-Gazette was one of those who appeared on Jazzbeau's show. Dave Crantz might have been there, too. He had done TV before, including a brief stint on the "Tonight Show" between Steve Allen and Jack Paar.

Jazzbeau, a big man, used to wear jumpsuits that were made by his wife. The set for the TV show had a barber chair as its center piece.

Like a lot of entertaining broadcasters, he was a genuine eccentric. I believe he went back to San Francisco after Pittsburgh.
