I enjoyed the pre-Fox Channel 53 concept of airing what was not being offered by 2, 4 or 11 from their respective networks, along with a wide range of eclectic fare from The 700 Club to weekend ethnic shows (yes, once upon a time the ethnic shows still so prevalent on some radio stations here could be found on TV, too).
Ironically, the world has changed such that, at least prior to the broadband auction that will force some stations to move, a medium that was so dependent on VHF now is largely on UHF (and still will be though you'll have WQED, Virtual Channel 13.1/2/3/4/5, now on Radio Frequency or Actual Channel 13, moving to RF Channel 2, for instance).
