This isn't as easy as it may sound. There were so many great personalities at KQV during its 17 years of Top 40. Here's my choice, using their original time periods as a guide (with one exception) and limiting myself to (fun-lovin') five.

Morning drive: Hal Murray
Midday: Keeve Berman (greatly underrated as a jock, I always thought)
Afternoon drive: Dave Scott
Evening: Chuck Brinkman
All Night: Rex Miller

Sadly, all but one are gone now.

They didn't fit these constraints, being on air 10:30 pm to 1:30 am, but I have to give special mention to Joe Fenn and the late George Hart as Coal and Steel, the most entertaining and creative DJ team I have ever heard.

To anyone who wonders why so much sadness attends the end of KQV compared with any other radio station, listen to the airchecks on Jeff Roteman's website or Uncle Ricky's Reelradio Repository. If you still don't get it, well, maybe you had to be there.
