Subject: Red phalarope

There was a Red phalarope at the end of Erie road (Consumer's POwer plant) in Monroe county, MI yesterday.

Take I-75 north to the Erie road exit (exit 5). Go right (east) to its dead end. Park, and walk the path east to the beach at Lake Erie. Lock your car, and hide your valuables--breakins have been a problem in the past here.

The phalarope was seen just offshore, no more than 10 feet, and just a bit to the south.
