Subject: Point Mouillee---phenomenal shorebirding

Point Mouillee State Game Area in Monroe County, MI, less than 30 miles north of Toledo, is producing incredible shorebirding.

Yesterday in the Lead Unit (as viewed from the outer dike known as The Banana), 25 species of shorebirds were present! Highlights were 24 Hudsonian godwits, 1 Marbled godwit, an avocet, a Willet, 4 Wilsons phalaropes and 3 Red-necked phalaropes.

Park at the Roberts road enttrance, and walk east out on the main dike. Hang a left at the banana, and look left into the Lead Unit.

Greg
