Art, did you get to hear their call when they were in the air? Is it even possible that they would head our way? I am trying hard to ID something that flew over my property yesterday...large, flying high, gave me the impression that it was a large crane-like bird, very weird and loud 2-part call. Didn't have binos. I was thinking sandhill crane but I've only heard them on the ground, not in flight, and their ground call if not exactly what I heard. Any thoughts?
