Subject: Red-necked grebe at Bayshore today

Today at noontime, I found a single Red-necked grebe off the fishing access just east of Bayshore Power Plant.

The bird was actively diving directly off the boat launch, more than halfway across the channel.

Also present were a handful of Horned grebes.

Farther east on Bayshore were more Horned grebes among the throng of other waterfowl, but alas no more Red-neckeds.
