Subject: Waterfowl but no Red-necked Grebe

In an attempt to get a glimpse of the Red-necked Grebe that Greg observed Tuesday, Terri and I set out to Bayshore power plant. Although we did not turn up the Grebe, there were thousands of waterfowl to look in the Bayshore area including:

15 Tundra Swans
about 10 Horned Grebes
thousands of Canada Geese
2 Wood Ducks
about 50 Gadwall
3 Widgeon
hundreds of Black Ducks
Mallards
dozens of Canvasback and Redhead
hundreds of Ring-necked Duck
hundreds of Lesser Scaup
Buffelhead
Goldeneye galore
Hooded Mergansers
probably thousands of Common Mergansers
Ruddy Duck and a Coot

lots of blackbirds and Killdeer moving as well.
