Subject: Shorebirds at Farnsworth

Following up on Eric's posting of two days ago that was sorely lacking for details, I did a quick check of Farnsworth at lunch today and happily bested him with 7 species of shorebirds:

Killdeer (50+)
Pectoral sandpipers (5)
Lesser yellowlegs (+/-30)
Least sandpiper (+/-25)
Short-billed dowitcher (3)
Stilt sandpiper (1)
Spotted sandpiper (+/-10)

The river's plenty low to allow for an abundance of good feeding areas for shorebirds from Sidecut all the way upstream to Farnsworth.
