Subject: The Crossbills Are Coming ???

I was at my brother's house (outside Ortonville MI, Oakland County, almost to Lapeer) on Thanksgiving. He had a pair of White-winged Crossbills coming to his feeders & eating sunflower seeds for most of the day.

Also there is at least one flock of Pine Siskins on Saturday 11/24/01 about noon (about 20 along with a small group mixing with a flock of 10+ goldfinches) at Woodlawn Cemetery, and one small flock of larger finches in the area of the bridge, likely crossbills, but the sky was poor and the birds were quiet.
